If I won the lotto

In the Bible Belt change is hard. We just got scratch off tickets September 28 and Powerball October 31. I have spent a few bucks on the scratch offs, but Powerball is my thing.

It is not as fun as it used to be. We used to make a road trip out of buying Powerball tickets because we had to leave the state. Now they are at our local gas station. I used to dream about winning the lottery and living the glamorous life, but now the dream is kind of "old." Wait, don't get me wrong I still want to win, but now I have a chance to win twice a week, not just every once in a while.

The other day, Mr. Bismarck asked me what I would actually do if I won. Well, here it is:

  1. I would donate a lot of money and time to the Charitable Christian Medical Clinic. They do very good work with very little.
  2. I would also work with surrounding domestic violence shelters to either have a safe house on our large property or build on else where. That can house a few women and kids.
  3. I would probably build this house, but maybe this one.
  4. I want to breed and train race horses. We have the perfect flat spot for a dirt oval to train and my father and opa pretty much have the history of horse racing memorized. We are also less than 30 minutes away from Oaklawn Park. Or maybe just house them for the winter months and have someone else come in a train them. Yeah, minimal effort by me. :)
  5. Of course all the children in my family would have their college or dream of choice taken care of. They wouldn't have to work either. My husband and I both worked our way through college with no help and it was hard. They need to focus on their grades and maybe they can realize their dreams quicker than we did.
  6. I would go back to school and become a professional counselor (I am going to do this regardless, when the kids get in school). I would use my personal experience and my degree to help the women in the shelter.
  7. Learn the Spanish language so that I could help the growing Hispanic population in our area with their medical needs (at the clinic) and the women in the shelter.
  8. Make sure my mother and father and my husband's mother are well taken care of and want for nothing. They raised us and have sacrificed a lot to get us where we are today. It is only fair they get paid back with a huge interest penalty.
And the most selfish of them all: I would hire a stylist and a personal trainer and finally become the hot momma that is inside me!
